Andrea Pattison

Thursday, March 13th, 2008

Jim has been spending time with Richard Rutherford and Andrea Pattison, working on the live set for Andreas band and some new songs for her upcoming c.d.. The band has Graham Wood on Keyboard and Steve Wall on drums as well as the "other two".

Andrea is a mainstay of the Laughing Jacks function band organisation as well as being Richards partner. Thought of as a jazz singer by many, Andrea has a love of Dolly Parton and is writing some "good songs" with Richard, according to Jim. (13/03/2008)

(Danny and Andrea used to be in a band together – about 14 years ago they reckon. Good to see that Jim has caught up at last!!)

Sleepwalk tops 1500 plays

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

Jim’s version of "Sleepwalk" (the old Santo and Johnny hit from wayback) received over 1500 hits on the Ramseur Records’ MySpace website. Taken from the c.d. "Hell’s Half Acre" by Martin Stephenson, the track was recorded live on Dolph Ramseurs front porch during a trip to North Carolina. Martin plays guitar on the cut and Jim plays Dobro. (11/03/2008)

Aaron Bayley records Jim Hornsby songs

Monday, March 10th, 2008

Singer Aaron Bayley has recorded two of Jims songs for his upcoming c.d. ‘Cowbells and Indians’. ‘World Outside’ from the Diesel Therapy c.d. ‘Turf House’ can be heard/downloaded from Aaron’s website . The other song is a brand new composition called ‘Memphis Moon’. Naturally Jim is happy to have his songs covered and we wish Aaron every success with the c.d.

News from The Ore-House

Monday, March 10th, 2008

It’s been a quiet time gig wise but in true Diesel Therapy tradition we have been busy behind the scenes. Weekends have been spent at the ‘Ore-House’ in Selby rehearsing new songs for both the live sets and the ‘new c.d.’. And of course getting used to our new rythmn section of Tony and Lee. So far we have six new songs recorded. The c.d. is being produced at The Cluny Studio by resident engineer and owner Tony Davis. We are excited by the new material and look forward to getting it out there.

The songs we’ve recorded so far are:

  1. Here’s Hoping
  2. Mad Dog Boogie
  3. Freight Train and the Talking Blues
  4. Losertown
  5. Water into Wine
  6. I’ve Found a Way.

Also causing a stir is the addition of John J. Paul to the recording and where possible the live gigs. John is a great accordion/keyboard/guitar/singer in his own rite. John has played on some of the new tracks giving us a cajun/soul feel which we love as it makes our repertoire more diverse.

Thanks to Chris at The Ore-House for coffee and biscuits. (What happened to Sex, Drugs and Rock ‘N’ Roll?) We will be back recording soon. In the meantime you can catch us at ‘The Ship’, Low Newton on Sunday 23rd of March Evening. Be good to see some old friends there. Cheers, Jim.
